Title up for grabs on the closing weekend in Milford Haven

The title race is wide open heading into the final weekend of the SuperStock UK series on the Welsh coast.

The 2017 SuperStock UK Championship series finale is set to be one of the greatest we’ve seen as it arrives on the shores of Pembrokeshire this weekend for the first time with the title race far from over.

Fans will be welcomed to Milford Haven for their debut Grand Prix of the Sea to watch each team fight to end the season on a high. We have just 28 points separating the top four teams and four points stand between sixth and eighth.

Standing aloft the table is the reigning P1 SuperStock UK Championship holders Pertemps Network after great outings in both Aalborg in Round One and Greenock in Round Two. Second place on the shores of Denmark along with the highest points total in Scotland has helped them hold the lead heading into this weekend.

Platinum Products are just nine points back of top spot and within touching distance before Saturday’s opening race. They have the highest score from any team in either Round of 2017 - 80 points in Aalborg - and a third-place finish in Scotland keep their title hopes alive.

What a debut season it has been for the Milford Waterfront Panther. The Welsh team arrive on home waters in third places thanks to podium finish in Round One with 63 points before a highly-impressive second in Greenock.

Sharing third place with Milford in Denmark was Experience Kissimmee and a fourth-place 58 point outing in Round Two sees them occupy fourth overall, 28 points back and within striking distance of top spot. In fifth in the Spirit of Inverclyde team courtesy of a pair of 53 point outings this year.

At the foot of the table is South Street but the standings will not be overall important for the team after a scare last time out. A mechanical failure on lap one of race four caused them to veer into PickfordsFX resulting in both crews being taken for medical checks, thankfully nobody in the collision had serious injuries.

Just four points separate sixth-placed Typhoo (94 points), Arthur J Gallagher (90) in seventh and PicksfordFX (90) one place further back.

With so many teams separated by so little it is sure to be an entertaining and ever-changing affair to celebrate Milford Haven’s inauguration as a P1 SuperStock venue.
