World Championships given go ahead to race in Key West

The first ever AquaX World Championships have been given a green light to race as scheduled in Key West this December.

Following damage from the devastating Hurricane Irma that swept through the Florida Keys last month, the event in Key West that was scheduled for 9-10 December was under risk of being rescheduled or moved.

However, Key West today gave the go ahead for the inaugural AquaX event as the island looks to move forward after a difficult month.

The World Championship event will see the best international riders from the AquaX series, both pro and amateur, compete for the right to be crowned the very first AquaX World Champion.

It will also be the first time Key West has hosted an AquaX race weekend, with Islamorada, another city along the Florida Keys that was affected by Irma, also hosting an event for the very first time back in August.
