Powerboat P1 is to partner with Enhanced Care Services (ECS) ), a leading provider of event medical services, to deliver high quality medical cover for competitors and event attendees at its UK jet ski race series this season.
Founded in 2015, ECS brings senior clinicians and an A&E level service to high-speed events such as the P1 AquaX racing. Lisa Barsby, Global Head of P1 AquaX and herself a former world champion racer, explained the key reasons for selecting ECS: “Our decision was influenced by a number of factors, including their focus on high quality care, extended capabilities on site, bringing a senior emergency medicine doctor to each event, enhanced care delivery at all levels and joint working with our safety team.”
ECS offers a full range of medical services, including top-level capabilities rarely seen outside of the NHS, and will be present at the P1 events in England, Wales and Belgium. ECS Director, Dr Edward Langford said: “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting the P1 racing this summer. Partnering with their world class safety team provides an exciting opportunity to drive up standards of medical care across the industry and we can’t wait for the first race event in June.”
Lisa Barsby added: “On a race weekend nothing is more important than safety and medical cover for everyone involved. We have created a safety ethos in our company and its events which shows in our beliefs, planning and behaviour, and its reassuring to be partnering with ECS who provide ‘gold standard’ event medical care backed by robust governance structures.”
The opening race event in this season’s P1 AquaX UK Championship will be at Porth Eirias, Colwyn Bay on the weekend of June 8-9.
