P1 has announced the USA Sprint schedule which includes events in Florida and Indiana, and two World Championship qualifying events for Pro Sprint riders.
A 3-round Florida-based series will be hosted in conjunction with the Florida based AquaX Enduro races and is set to kick off in Daytona Beach on the weekend of April 17 -18. It will then head inland to Kissimmee-St Cloud on May 1st before ending the season on Sept 4-5 at St Petersburg, a new AquaX venue on the west coast of Florida.
The Daytona Beach and St Petersburg events will also double as standalone world championship qualifiers for Pro Sprint riders. Racers who finish in the top 5 at either of these events will automatically qualify for the P1 AquaX Bahamas World Championship pencilled in for 5th to 7th of November. The winner of the Pro Sprint Florida series will also qualify.
In addition to the Florida series an AquaX Sprint Cup event will take place in La Porte, Indiana on the weekend of the July 31st and August 1st, together with the AquaX Enduro races. The winner of the Pro Sprint class will also qualify for a place to the Bahamas World Championship.
In a change from last year’s technical rules, the Pro Sprint class will adopt the IJSBA Ski GP for both the national and world championship events.
All Sprint events will offer Pro/Am Sprint racing for 4 and 2 stroke stand up craft and Sprint SE racing for Yamaha EXR and Sea-Doo Spark riders, together with regional level racing classes for Sport GP and Sport Spec enthusiasts. Additional classes maybe added if there is a demand.
