P1 has announced the 2021 USA Sprint calendar which includes pwc race events in Florida and Indiana together with two World Championship qualifying events for Pro Sprint riders.
A three-round Florida-based series will be hosted in conjunction with AquaX Enduro races and is set to kick off in Daytona Beach on the weekend of April 17 -18. It will then head inland to Kissimmee-St Cloud on May 1 before ending the season on Sept 4-5 at St Petersburg, a new AquaX venue on the west coast of Florida.
The Daytona Beach and St Petersburg events will also double as standalone world championship qualifiers for Pro Sprint riders. Racers who finish in the top 5 at either of these events will automatically qualify for the P1 AquaX Bahamas World Championship scheduled for November 5-7. The winner of the Pro Sprint Florida series will also qualify.
In addition to the Florida series, an AquaX Sprint Cup event will take place in La Porte, Indiana on the weekend of July 31 and August 1, together with the AquaX Enduro races. The winner of the Pro Sprint class will also qualify for the Bahamas World Championship.
In a change from last year’s technical rules, the Pro Sprint class will adopt the IJSBA Ski GP for both the national and world championship events.
All Sprint events will offer Pro/Am Sprint racing for 4- and 2-stroke stand up craft and Sprint SE racing for Yamaha EXR and Sea-Doo Spark riders, together with regional level racing classes for Sport GP and Sport Spec enthusiasts. Additional classes may be added if required.
